Today, as we wait for conditions in the North Pole to clear so that the plane can take off, the team has been making final preparations for the trek in Svalbard. The admin is finished, the sledges are packed and the kits are checked, ready for all conditions.
The team has also undertaken some ski training and been fully briefed in the safety aspect of the trek. We divided the group into 3 sleep teams/sled teams.
Temperatures on the trek reach -50 degrees Celsius
Each team will share a tent, cooking duties, admin, safety and communications.
The sledges ready to go
Team 1: Alan, Lewis and Gary
Team 2: Charlie, Danny and James
Team 3: Wayne, Josh and Yves
